Miami Commissioner Requests Citywide Playground Safety Review

A 13-year-old boy died after an incident inside a slide at Shenandoah Park. He was found in the slide on Sept. 25 and died Oct. 1, according to his mother. The circumstances remain under investigation.

Miami Commissioner Rolando Escalona asked the city administration to investigate the incident and review playground equipment across Miami parks. Shenandoah Park closed during the police investigation and has since reopened.
