Three Miami Beach Live Local Tower Applications Withdrawn

Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez said developer Russell Galbut confirmed in a Monday-night email to City Manager Eric Carpenter that he was withdrawing applications for three residential towers proposed under Florida’s Live Local Act.

The plans called for a 519-foot tower at 1575 Alton Road, a 383-foot tower at 740 Alton Road and a 225-foot tower at 880 71st Street. The 2023 state law allows qualifying developments to bypass local zoning rules and requires at least 40% of units to be reserved as affordable rentals for at least 30 years.
