The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust was awarded up to $12 million in federal funding for a street outreach initiative serving people experiencing homelessness with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. The Trust will oversee and monitor the Miami Safe Streets Collaborative, which will coordinate work among local government, health care, housing, law enforcement and judicial organizations.
The initiative will focus on downtown Miami, Overtown, Little Havana, Allapattah and Wynwood/Edgewater. New Hope C.O.R.P.S., The Advocate Program, Camillus Health Concern and Behavioral Science Research are partnering with the Trust.
