Authorities responded to Miami International Airport on Wednesday after reports of possible gunfire shortly after 4 p.m. Deputies later confirmed that one person was taken into custody.
Airport officials said departure-level doors 12 through 17 and the departure-level roadway were closed because of Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office activity, with traffic diverted to the arrivals level. Officials also said passengers and employees were safe, no injuries were reported, and there was no ongoing threat to the public.
