Miami commissioners gave final approval Thursday to a record $3.7 billion city budget. The property tax rate will remain unchanged.
A last-minute amendment restored citywide funding for festivals and special events to roughly its current level, distributed $10.5 million in personnel savings across departments and projected about $950,000 in additional marina revenue. The amendment was dated the day before the hearing and was not publicly available before the meeting.
The General Fund, the city’s primary operating account, totals about $1.3 billion. The combined property tax rate is 7.3616 mills, including general operations and debt service.
