Man Arrested on Arson Charge After Homestead Fire Damages Home and Vehicles

A man was arrested Tuesday on a first-degree arson charge after a fire damaged four vehicles, a side-by-side and part of a Homestead home early that morning. The fire occurred in the 1000 block of Northwest Ninth Street.

A Miami-Dade fire investigator classified the fire as arson and said a possible accelerant may have been used. Samples were collected for laboratory testing. Police identified the arrested man as Yonelfy Elionai Diaz.
