Florida Raises Crash Reporting Threshold to $2,000

Florida’s SB 488 raises the apparent-damage threshold for immediately reporting a traffic crash from $500 to $2,000. drivers must notify the appropriate authority if a crash causes an injury or death, or if apparent damage to a vehicle or other property reaches at least $2,000.

The damage threshold does not remove the reporting requirement when someone is injured or killed.
