A Hialeah cease-and-desist order dated Oct. 7 directs Little Havana Activities & Nutrition Centers to stop operating its senior program at La Carreta within five days. The order says the program lacks a valid business tax receipt and warns that the city could pursue legal proceedings if operations continue.
The city’s Zoning Division denied the application, citing a 77-space parking requirement, while Public Works said the restaurant lacked reserved capacity for the proposed use. The program reopened at La Carreta on Sept. 16, after the organization left its Goodlet Park site, where it had served seniors for 43 years.
