Miami-Dade commissioners are scheduled to consider raising bus and Metrorail fares. The proposal would increase the current $2.25 fare to $2.75 next spring, but commissioners could approve a smaller increase to $2.50 or reject the measure.
In September, commissioners adopted cuts to late-night bus service as a temporary measure to balance the transit budget. The county administration estimates that a $2.75 fare would generate an additional $10 million. It has estimated the cost of restoring late-night service at $10.4 million.
