Miami-Dade voters will be asked in November to renew a property-tax levy that supplements public school teachers’ pay. The one-mill levy charges $1 for every $1,000 of a property’s taxable value.
Voters approved the tax in 2018 and 2022. It must be renewed for teachers to keep their current supplements. District estimates say the levy generates more than half a billion dollars, with most of the revenue supplementing teacher salaries.
