Rivera’s Sentencing Hearing Weighs Competing Prison Terms

Former U.S. Rep. David Rivera’s sentencing hearing took place in Miami federal court on Friday. Prosecutors are seeking 22 to 30 years in prison, while his defense is requesting an eight-year sentence.

Rivera was found guilty in May on charges including failing to register as a foreign agent and conspiracy to commit money laundering. His associate, Esther Nuhfer, was also convicted.
