Three Hialeah police officers who provided security for Mayor Bryan Calvo received more than $59,100 in additional pay from the Jan. 18 appointment of Rudi Ginestra as sergeant-at-arms through July 10. Ginestra, Aileen Perez and Frank Espildora received a combination of overtime and call-back pay, according to payroll records.
The city budget includes the officers’ salaries and additional compensation in the Police Department’s budget, but does not separately identify the mayor’s security assignments. The budget allocates $89.4 million to the department, within a total city budget of $514.4 million.
