NTSB Releases Initial Report on Fatal Miami Cargo Plane Crash

Federal investigators have issued an initial report on 21 Air Flight 7598, which overshot a runway at Miami International Airport. The cargo Boeing 767, operating for Amazon Prime, crashed into a van carrying airport cleaning workers and a Toyota Corolla SUV. Five people in the van died, and five others were seriously injured.

Flight-recorder data showed the pilots tried to lift the aircraft again in the final seconds, but not enough runway remained. The recorder showed no indication that speed brakes or thrust reversers were deployed.
