Carnegie Mellon University plans to build a Miami campus at Mana Wynwood, 318 NW 23rd St. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with enrollment anticipated to start in 2028.
The university says the campus is expected to serve more than 3,500 undergraduate, master’s and PhD students, and support 300 faculty members and 600 staff. A $2 billion gift from Miami billionaire Ken Griffin is intended to fund the campus and is part of a larger $3 billion gift. Griffin’s separate $500 million gift will go to the university’s computer science school, which is set to be renamed the Kenneth C. Griffin School of Computer Science.
